Stuttgart, Germany

Thursday 17 to Saturday 21 December

Stuttgart is unusual in the scheme of German cities. It is spread across a variety of hills (some of them covered in vineyards), valleys (especially around the Neckar river and the Stuttgart basin) and parks. The city is known as the “cradle of the automobile“. As such, it is home to famous automobile museums like the Mercedes-Benz Museum and Porsche Museum, as well as numerous auto-enthusiast magazines, which contributes to Stuttgart’s status as Germany’s “Autohauptstadt” (“car capital city”/”capital of cars”).

Here to visit Klaus – a secondary school mate and his daughter Laura. Klaus did work his entire career for Merceedes, and has a vineyard in Stutgart.

Rianna arrived the second day, just as Laura fell ill with Covid, so we left her to isolate while we explored some nearby hills then drove down south for a couple of nights at Neuhaus – south of Munich.

Thanks for a great time Klaus and Laura
